The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Hampton University, the only HBCU-
hosted OLLI in the nation, embodies Hampton’s belief that education has no age limit.

For Jacqueline Eadie ‘24, service is a calling. From her work as a Care Assistant and Nurse Aide
apprentice to her internship with the Hampton Victim Services Unit, Jacqueline exemplifies the Hampton
spirit—using education to uplift others. Through philanthropic support and community partnerships, she
gained the hands-on experience needed to lead in healthcare and public service. Her journey embodies
the power of engagement to transform lives.

Department of Biological Science: Cultivating Future Health Professionals
The Department of Biological Science prepares students to excel in medicine and research by
combining academic rigor with real-world experience.

Philanthropic Support: Consistent budgetary and
alumni support sustain program operations and
scholarships.

Student Impact: The Master of Medical Science (MSD)
program achieved a 100% graduation rate for the
May 2024 class, with six graduates accepted into
professional schools.

Innovative Programs: The program integrates research and
clinical training, offering summer experiences at Sentara
and Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD).
Alumni Engagement: The Hampton Alumni Health
Professionals Homecoming Visit brought together over
a dozen alumni from Harvard, Emory, and Vanderbilt,
providing mentorship and networking.
This consistent engagement between alumni and students positions the department—and Hampton University—
as a leader in health sciences education.
