Office of Pre-Health Programs: Inspiring Tomorrow’s Healers
The Office of Pre-Health Programs prepares students for medical and
research careers through mentorship, resources, and scholarship
support. This year, a $79,500 Sentara Choice Scholarship Grant
provided tuition assistance to 14 pre-medical students, contributing
to a 100% retention rate.
Students collectively completed 1,200 hours of community service,
with many earning placements in prestigious medical programs
at Boston University and Old Dominion University/Eastern Virginia
Medical School.
This investment in access and preparation ensures Hampton
continues to produce leaders who heal and serve, hallmarks of our
Elevating Hampton Excellence strategic plan.
Student Pathfinder Profile: Mike J. Rahming
INVESTING IN THE FUTURE
For Mike J. Rahming, Class of 2027, a junior Computer Science major from Atlanta,
alumni support made the difference. A scholarship from the NHAA, Inc. Atlanta Chapter
opened doors to leadership and learning. As captain of Hampton’s winning team in the
Goldman Sachs Market Madness: HBCU Possibilities Program, Mike helped secure a
$250,000 grant for the University, demonstrating how philanthropy multiplies its impact
when students rise to the challenge.
In a major win for both
institutions, a joint team
from Hampton University
and Morgan State
University secured fourth
place at the Goldman
Sachs Market Madness:
HBCU Possibilities
Program, earning a
$250,000 grant to be split
between the two schools.
