Cultivating a Culture of Giving
The University is embedding philanthropy into everyday operations.
We hosted “Lunch and Learn” sessions in Chicago and on campus
for business leaders, civic influencers, and community partners to
explore collaborative opportunities. Signature gatherings such as
the Blueteenth Experience in Atlanta, Coaches Caravan, and Pirate
Weekenders in major cities reignited alumni pride and engagement.
Faculty and staff now have access to new resources on proposal
writing, donor cultivation, and relationship management—tools
designed to build capacity and sustain growth.
This top-down, community-wide approach ensures that Hampton’s
financial sustainability is not dependent on any single initiative but
strengthened by a collective belief in the power of giving.
Bringing the Hampton spirit to life across the country, events like the Blueteenth
Experience in Atlanta, the Coaches Caravan, and Pirate Weekenders have successfully
reignited alumni pride and engagement. These events highlight the university’s strong
and vibrant alumni network.
